CAAB demonstrated at NSA Menwith Hill,
on the evening of the day that the Director of Public
Prosecutions dropped the case against Katharine Gun - the former
translator who worked at GCHQ. She was accused of disclosing a
request allegedly from a US National Security Agency official. The
request was for help from British intelligence to tap the
telephones of UN security council delegates during the period of intensive
diplomacy before the illegal US/UK invasion of Iraq.
We went to NSA Menwith Hill in solidarity with
and in support of Katherine Gun who courageously spoke
out. We held two upside down US flags with the words:
WELL DONE! KATHARINE GUN
and
THANK YOU! KATHARINE GUN
The world desperately needs more whistle
blowers like Katharine Gun.
GCHQ operates at NSA Menwith Hill.
