CAAB Report 146 |
Harrogate Magistrates' Court - 21 December 2004 - am
R v Lindis Percy and Anni Rainbow
The day before this hearing, the Crown Prosecution Service had again
requested an adjournment because more statements, videos and documents
needed to be served on the Defence. This was opposed and the
hearing went ahead.
Lindis and Richard Reed (Solicitor representing Anni and Lindis)attended
a pre-trial review (one of many since May 2004) to decide how to
manage the next stage of the trials pending (Anni has 2
and Lindis now has 19). Every case arises out of the
peaceful demonstrations on Tuesday evenings (see CAAB Reports since
18 May 2004) and cover the same issues - the right to protest
and the issue of the 'yellow line'). An application is to be
made by Andrew Barton (Clerk) for a District Judge to hear the cases.
It is hoped that the District Judge will be able to attend the next
pretrial review on 19 January 2005. The CPS were given 14
days to produce all the documents.
