CAAB Report 158 |
Tuesday 22 March 2005
There were four protestors tonight at the regular Tuesday night
CAAB demonstration. Ministry of Defence Police Agency officers
from York Divisional Support Group were present.
On arrival, Lindis Percy was 'warned' twice for allegedly 'obstructing
the highway' and then swiftly arrested by Peter Burrows (MDPA). She
was charged after three hours in custody. The Custody officer
was Jason Marchant.
There are often rude, offensive and abusive language or gestures from
people coming in and out of the base. A person driving out of
Menwith Hill during the protest, told John Ward, one of the protestors
to "Get out of the way, nob head". MDPA officers who
witnessed this did not intervene. The Senior MDPA officer on
duty was called to deal with this rude and offensive behaviour.
The man was told to apologise to John Ward - which he grudgingly did.
His details were taken by the police and given a warning.
There were no other arrests.
District Judge Anderson will preside on Wednesday 23
March 2005 at the fourth Pre-trial review hearing at Harrogate
Magistrates' Court, to decide how to manage 30 cases now in the court.
