CAAB Report 161 |
Tuesday 5 April 2005
Nine people were at the regular Tuesday night demonstration at NSA
Menwith Hill including Rythms of Resistance from Sheffield. The
demonstration was filmed by a student from Sheffield University as part
of her dissertation.
Two cars which were driven dangerously out of the base and it
seemed deliberately at some of the demonstrators had their
numbers taken by PC Godfrey (Ministry of Defence Police Agency officer)
who said that he would 'deal with them later' and make a statement.
Lindis Percy was arrested by PC Grainge for alleged 'obstruction of the
highway'. She was taken to Harrogate Police Station - where
Sergeant Radcliffe (Custody officer) detained her. She was later
charged with the above alleged offence.
This charge brings the number of cases before District Judge Anderson to 32. He will preside at another pre-trial review and then on to trial at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on Thursday 7th April 2005 at 10 am (there will be a 'sentencing' case heard first). Court time has been set aside for 6 days.
We would very much welcome any quiet support at any stage of these
hearings.
Thank you to those of you who pointed out that we mistakenly put
the wrong date
for the start of the 32 cases at Harrogate Magistrates' Court ...
Also, a big thank you to all who have sent messages of support.
