Dear Ffriends

Advance notice to let you know that Lindis Percy will be in York Crown Court on Wednesday 16 November 2005 at 10.30 am when her appeal against 5 convictions and sentences will be heard.

On 17 May this year Roy Anderson (District Judge) convicted Lindis of one offence of 'obstruction of the highway' and 4 offences of 'obstruction of an officer in the execution of his duty' while demonstrating at the regular Tuesday evening CAAB demonstration at NSA Menwith Hill.  These were 'sample' cases as there were originally 32 cases in front of Roy Anderson when the case came to trial in May.

After declining to grant an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) on Lindis, the District Judge sentenced her to be electronically tagged and curfewed at home between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am for 8 weeks. This was put on hold pending the outcome of her appeal.

We would so welcome quiet support in court.  The case sets somewhat of a precedent regarding peace protestors should Lindis fail in her appeal and the sentence (electronic tagging and curfew) in particular upheld.
