CAAB Report 195 |
Saturday 15 July 2006
CAAB was present at the main gates (with the
upside down US flag with the words 'INDEPENPENCE FROM AMERICA') of the
Deep Space Tracking Facility and Near Space Center at Feltwell
and at USAF Lakenheath, for a short protest against the role and
functions of these bases.
After what appeared to be a 'consultation'
with American 'security police' at USAF Lakenheath, Lindis Percy was
immediately 'warned' by a Ministry of Defence Police Agency officer (Bob)
that she would be arrested if she continued to do what she was doing.
She was walking backwards and forwards in front of cars waiting to come
out of the base with the traffic lights on red , then stepping to the
side. Rather than risk arrest which seemed almost inevitable
(whatever she did and probably being denied bail and kept in custody over
the weekend) she left to give do some research at USAF Mildenhall.
Both bases continue to expand and develop.
At Feltwell there are construction works going
on at the main gate for a larger guard house and entrance to the base.
Attention was also given to USAF Alconbury. All these bases are
'designated' bases under the terms of the Serious Organised Crime and
Police Act 2006 - see CAAB website for full list.
