MP supports regular Tuesday demonstration

We were delighted to welcome Fabian Mamilton ((Labour MP Leeds North East) to the regular Tuesday evening demonstration outside the entrance to Menwith Hill (held each week for the past seven years) on 12 February 2008. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee (FASC) who were highly critical of the way Des Brown (Secretary of State for Defence) announced the decision to grant permission to the US government to use Menwith Hill for Missile Defense in July last year and called for a debate in the House of Commons.

Fabian Hamilton talked briefly about the need for MPs to be engaged with the important issue of Missile Defense and the critical report by the Foreign Affairs Select Committee. His talk was videoed by the 'Evidence Gathering' officer. We intend to invite more MPs to come to the demonstration over the next year. Jeremy Corbyn (Labour MP Islington North) was going to come too but was prevented at the last moment.
